Walk for food allergy awareness
Living with multiple life-threatening food allergies is a daily challenge for 33 million Americans. From navigating school lunches to traveling safely, these obstacles are often overlooked by those who don’t face them. That’s why Beyond The Shell is passionate about supporting Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) to help those living with food allergies.
Our goal for the Food Allergy Awareness Walk on May 10th is to raise awareness and make a real difference by raising funds for FARE’s mission—advancing research, education, advocacy, and health equity. Every dollar donated goes directly to FARE’s critical work, bringing us closer to a safer, more inclusive world for everyone with food allergies. Together, we can create change!
Schedule
Allergy-friendly snacks will be available from our generous sponsors during the event.

Guest Speaker
Meet Brian Hom
Brian Hom tragically lost his 18-year-old son, BJ, to an anaphylactic reaction while on a family vacation. In honor of his son, Brian organized fundraising walks, helped pass legislation ensuring schools have access to epinephrine, and opened two Vitality Bowl locations in the Bay Area, providing allergy-friendly food to create safe dining options. As a board member of FAACT, Brian continues to raise awareness, push for stronger safety policies, and make a lasting impact on the food allergy community.
